The Housing Bank participated as the platinum sponsor of the Prudential Regulatory Procedures & Sound Practices in Risk Management Forum organized by the Union of Arab Banks in cooperation with the Central Bank and the Association of Banks in Jordan under the auspices of Dr. Ziad Fariz, Governor of the Central Bank, which took place in 18-19 February in Intercontinental Hotel Amman, with the participation of a number of regulatory authorities officials and observers, central banks, audit managers and financial analysts in the region.
The forum highlighted the main challenges currently facing Arab banks, and the comprehensive prudential regulatory mechanisms and procedures that need to be applied, and the sound practices in risk management in accordance with the new requirements of the recommendations of Basel Committee, to optimize the ability of the Arab banking sector to address these challenges.
The forum also allowed the identification of the latest and most important amendments to international and regional initiatives after the global financial crisis and its repercussions. During the forum, some regulatory experiences in the Arab world and best practices in risk management were presented by a selected and distinct elite group of the Arab world experts and some specialized international organizations.
