The Housing Bank "Gold Sponsor" of the National Industries for SMEs Forum
The Housing Bank sponsored the National Industries Forum, which was held in the presence of Dr. Abdullah Al-Nsour, Prime Minister, and organized by Jordan Chamber of Industry in collaboration with the Confederation of Danish Industries and the Arab Planning Institute and with the participation of at least 300 lecturers and participants from Jordan, Kuwait, Egypt, Turkey, Bahrain, UAE, Denmark and Malaysia. The Forum was also held with the participation of representatives of chambers of industry and commerce in the Middle East and North Africa and relevant unions and associations, the government, academic sector, banks, financial and non-financial institutions, and donors, which accounts for over 95% of the total establishments operating in the Middle East and North Africa. Majority of the members of the chambers of industry and commerce and business organizations is one of the important economic segments of institutions, which has become known as growth drivers.
The Housing Bank's sponsorship of this Forum is an embodiment of the Bank's role to support different economic institutions, especially small and medium industrial institutions, in recognition of the importance of these industries and their role as national development leverage.
As an expression of interest of the Housing Bank to these vital and important sectors, the Bank established departments concerned with small and medium business, and provided them with necessary competencies. The Bank also provided a range of banking services and adopted a number of banking policies flexible to respond to the needs and requirements of this segment to enable it to invest the necessary opportunities for the continued growth and development.
The Bank's participation in the Forum represented in a working paper presented by Dr. Jamal Abu Obaid, Executive Director of Strategic Planning and Research at the Housing Bank, based on the Bank's lasting and continuous effort in strengthening of relations of cooperation with various economic and trade sectors in the Kingdom, as having an active role in supporting the national economy and elevate it to a higher level, and because of the importance of this Forum in improving the business environment, and enhancing the role of the private sector, encouraging it to grow, increasing its competitiveness, and promoting local products.
